March 2026 P.I.E.S. Recipient Announced

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month P.I.E.S. award recognizes employees who Positively Influence Educational Success. The award is for employees who go above and beyond in that effort.

We are proud to announce Tawna Eborn, a 3rd-grade teacher at Ellis Elementary School, as our PIES Award recipient for going above and beyond to support learners and colleagues.

In her nomination, Mandi Burrell shared that when she thinks of someone who has positively influenced educational success, Mrs. Eborn is the first person who comes to mind. Mrs. Eborn served as Ms. Burrell’s mentor teacher when she first began her career. During one early classroom visit, Mrs. Eborn taught a lesson to Ms. Burrell’s first graders that left a lasting impression – not only on the learners in the room, but also on Ms. Burrell as a new educator. The example she set that day helped shape the kind of classroom environment Ms. Burrell strives to create for her own learners.

Now, twenty years later, Ms. Burrell shared that she continues to learn from Mrs. Eborn and deeply respects the example she has set throughout her career. She describes Mrs. Eborn as someone who is positive, respectful, and understanding while maintaining high expectations for every learner.

Through strong relationships and thoughtful support, Mrs. Eborn helps her students grow and succeed.

As Mrs. Eborn prepares to conclude her career this year, her colleagues reflect on the lasting influence she has had throughout the Ellis Elementary community. Her mentorship has shaped fellow educators, and her care for students has left a meaningful mask on countless young people. Ellis Elementary will not be the same without her presence, and many who have worked beside her are grateful to have learned from her and to call her a friend.

Through her dedication, mentorship, and lasting influence on both learners and educators, Tawna Eborn truly exemplifies what it means to Positively Influence Educational Success.

Ms. Eborn was recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 and received a $50 gift card from the educational partner for this award, Lookout Credit Union.
